Students Telecast First-Ever Live News Show

Hunter News Now students made history on May 8, telecasting their show live on the Hunter College Journalism Youtube channel for the first time ever.

Professor Sissel McCarthy’s students and Peter Jackson’s tech-terns worked together to produce a near-perfect newscast anchored by seniors Alexandra Ali and Cait Munson.

The 20-minute show, directed by Winna Carrasco, included stories about commencement speaker Hillary Rodham Clinton, Earth Week celebrations on campus, a piano master class and our scholar-athlete of the week, track star Glenn Collaku.

As you can see below in a behind-the-scenes video that shows what was happening just before and after the live show started, everyone in the control room and studio looked and sounded like pros.

Congratulations to the Hunter News Now team on their groundbreaking work this semester.
