Hunter Journalism Program Seeks Fall Intern/Work Study Student

The Journalism Program is accepting applications through Sept. 7 for an intern or work study student.  The position will give a work study student or intern the opportunity to work closely with journalism faculty and students 5-10 hours a week, helping students create their first personal website as well as supporting journalism classes using Premiere Pro. The position also entails working with faculty to help prepare and post content for the journalism program website, newsletter and social media accounts and helping with journalism program events.

Responsibilities include to:

  • meet with introductory journalism classes to help students get started on their domains
  • hold “Help Hours” ahead of key domain deadlines
  • be available by email to help students troubleshoot
  • provide Premiere Pro editing and trouble-shooting support for MEDPL 283 and MEDPL 388 students
  • help create and post content for the Hunter College Journalism website, newsletter and social media accounts
  • help organize journalism program events like the biannual Pulitzer Center Talk at the Roosevelt House

Requirements include:

  • strong digital media skills that include website design (WordPress) and Premiere Pro
  • MEDPL 160 and MEDPL 201 preferred but not required
