IMA students and co-directors Megan Rossman and Samantha Farinella’s film The Beekeeper’s Keeper won a National Board of Review student grant award this year.
They attended a screening of their work on Tuesday night. Both their subject, Liane Newtoon, far left, and Shanti Thakur, far right, were there, along with Samantha, left, and Megan, right, to show their support. Samantha and Megan are grateful for both the award and continued support of the IMA program. The Beekeeper’s Keeper has been accepted into six film festivals so far this year.

Don’t Bring Scott is a personal documentary portrait that investigates the roots of homophobia in the American family and its reinforcement via religion and society. When David’s working-class parents decide to celebrate their 46th wedding anniversary without inviting his life partner, this All-American, rural family is dragged into the 21st century.
