Today LGBT people are far more likely than any other minority group in the United States to be victimized by hate crimes. Through telling the story of a violent hate crime in a LGBT bar, Puzzles explores the connection between joblessness, homophobia, intolerance, and, ultimately, violence.

IMA alumnae Sarah Wright’s and Laura Chipley’s screening at Greenpoint Film Festival
Sarah Wright (IMA), Laura Chipley (IMA) and Nathan Kensinger screen Newtown Creek Armada: English Kills Voyage at the Greenpoint Film Festival. The piece features a journey into the waters of the English Kills at the end of the Newtown Creek. The Newtown Creek Armada is a public art project to explore the past, present and future of a contaminated New York City waterway.
IMA alumna Sarah Friedland’s Screens at Coney Island Film Festival
Sarah Friedland will be screening a short, experimental film at the Coney Island Film Festival on Saturday September 21st. The piece originated from classes she took with Professor Rachel Stevens and Professor Michael Gitlin.
IMA student Iva Radivojevic’s film, Ben: In the Mind’s Eye will also be featured at the festival.
