About the Book
In the political fight over copyright, internet advocacy has reshaped the playing field. This was shown most dramatically in the 2012 “SOPA blackout,” when the largest online protest in history stopped two copyright bills in their tracks. For those not already familiar with the debate, this protest seemingly came out of nowhere, yet it was the culmination of an intellectual and political evolution more than a decade in the making.

Prof. Thakur’s film selected for A.I.R. Gallery’s 40th Anniversary Show
Shanti Thakur’s experimental-documentary Seven Hours to Burn will screen at A.I.R. Gallery’s 40th Anniversary Show, 40/40: A Double Vision.
The opening reception will be on Thursday, March 7th from 6 – 9pm at 111 Front Street in DUMBO, Brooklyn.
The exhibition will be on view March 7 – 20, 2013.
Founded in 1972, A.I.R. is the first artist-run gallery for women in the United States. This show pairs the work of 20 member artists with the work of 20 invited guest artists.
