Veteran journalist Danny Gold will discuss his investigative project “The Only Way Out in El Salvador,” on Thursday, Nov. 15, at CUNY’s Guttman Community College. Gold’s reporting is supported by Pulitzer Center, which also runs a Campus Consortium program at Hunter College that provides grants for student journalism projects oversees.
Gold, one of the founding correspondents and producers for VICE News, has reported from 17 countries and his work has been on a range of outlets including Netflix, PBS, MSNBC, BBC, the New Yorker and Wall Street Journal.
His Pulitzer Center-supported project reports on gang members who are looking to Christianity for a second chance at a non-violent lifestyle in El Salvador.
The event is free and open to Guttman students, faculty, staff and the public. Guttman is located at 50 West 40th St. The event, in Rm. 401, begins at 6:30 p.m.
NOTE: Some Hunter journalism instructors are offering extra credit opportunities associated with the event. Check with your instructor for more details.
