Journalism Alum Sydney Sepp Joins Comms Team at WNBA

Sydney Sepp, a 2024 graduate of the Journalism Program at Hunter College, has joined the WNBA as a social content publisher, leading live game coverage across Meta and YouTube. In this role, Sepp reports on games in real time—highlighting major plays, momentum shifts, and defining moments as they unfold.

Sepp credits her Visual Storytelling class with Professor Marcus Harun with helping prepare her for this position.

Harun is a line producer for the award-winning broadcast NBC News Daily and was a practitioner-in-residence professor in the Journalism Program.

“Learning from someone actively working at NBC, alongside the journalists he regularly invited into the room, made the experience feel grounded in the real industry from the start,” Sepp said. “That work allowed me to show the WNBA the kind of storytelling I wanted to pursue professionally.”
