IMA student Betty Yu received a grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council for an interactive community art project Celebrating Our Ancestors at Sunset in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
Additionally, she received a grant from the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s (LMCC) Creative Engagement for a community-led and anti-gentrification media project Here to Stay in Chinatown.
Congrats to IMA students Tom Gubernat and Kaija Siirala as their short film documentary Boys and Girls made it into the 2016 True/False Film Festival!
Boys and Girls was a project done during Prof. Michael Gitlin’s class Microcultural Incidents. It was directed and shot by Tom Gubernat and sound production by Kaija Siirala.
