IMA alum Dylan Gauthier’s artist talk

IMA alum Dylan Gauthier will discuss his exhibition, Artist talk: highwatermarks, at the Brandywine River Museum of Art in Pennsylvania. His art project is an immersive video and audio installation that presents a panorama on the course of Brandywine River and its surrounding communities. Gauthier will share insights about his research and documentation of the river and his work with Brandywine Conservancy staff throughout the course of his residency, and reflect on the role and power of art to shift societal perceptions of ecological issues.

Fall 2013 iArt Show

On Friday, December 20th, from 5:00-7:00pm the Integrated Media Arts MFA and the Film and Media students will be hosting an evening of collaborative and individual works and installations which investigate space, sound and movement at the Hunter College Black Box Gallery. They will present their semester’s work at iArt 2013, Engage Now, Interactive Media Explorations. Come, touch, play, experience the works and meet the artists behind them.

Graduate students at Hunter College will exhibit their interactive art installations in this Fall’s i-Art show, which is sure to engage your senses in the exploration of time, history and social issues. The i-Art show is a public exhibition of interactive installations exploring various technologies and equipment to detect different elements such as video, sound, and text to create real-time interactivity. Debuting on December 19th, visitors of the exhibit will experience a variety of projects that will stretch the imagination. Immerse yourself in a virtual tour of Little Syria in the Lower Manhattan during the 1920’s, or an interactive documentation of the history of calypso music, or enter an intimate space through a typewriter. These are just a few of the innovative and unique installations that are featured in this Fall’s show.
