Revolutionary Women by Fredgy Noël

A multichannel video installation that honors five women leaders of the Haitian Revolution who had been nearly non-existent in the historical record. Through rhythmic imagery, Noël examines the intersections of gender, race, sexuality, and mental health, making connections between the women leaders of the past and present as well as her own story as a Haitian woman and the multiple identities that exist within her.
