Garbage Girl, a short film made by IMA student Chris Nostrand will be shown in the Underexposed Film Festival in South Carolina from November 14-16. Christopher Nostrand will be posting his experiences of his travels and the festival on his Facebook page, Garbage Girl Films.
This Tuesday, November 12th at 7 PM, IMA alum Benj Gerdes will be moderating a screening and discussion at the Anthology Film Archives showing States of Exception, Exceptional States: The Iron Grip of Nationalism. The screenings will feature films on the unending crisis in the middle east in countries such as Israel, Palestine and Syria. After the show a wine reception will be held in the lobby where the discussion will take place.
After eight weeks of research, six curators from the NLE Lab present their site-specific and community responsive exhibition, Through the Parlor, in a former beauty salon in Chinatown. IMA student Betty Yu’s exhibition Workshifts is an interactive installation that will be apart of the opening reception this Friday the 8th. It will be featured for 5 weeks.
