Amid the coronavirus lockdown, singer-songwriter April Levin had to decide whether she would stay in New York or head back to her hometown in Colorado. She chose the latter, leaving her band and the local music community indefinitely. As a college sophomore at SUNY Purchase, the school’s recording studios where she could track live instruments are now miles away.
