IMA Alum Benj Gerdes’ thesis and other work will be at the opening of the 3rd season of Flaherty NYC. The event will be presenting works from 2010 Flaherty Seminar featured artists Benj Gerdes and Jennifer Hayashida, including: Strike Anywhere, Populus Tremula, Iraq: Because There Are So Many, Happy Anniversary: San Francisco, March 20-21, 2003 and Terms of Service: When We Pretend, We’re in Control. There will be a post-screening discussion with the filmmakers, moderated by Penny Lane, Flaherty NYC programmer and independent filmmaker/educator/writer.

IMA Student Melissa Hacker’s short film screening
Melissa Hacker’s short film “Letters Home” will be screeing in the closing night of the Stranger than Fiction series.
Letters Home is created around letters written by Melissa’s great-aunt Freda as she traveled through Germany and Austria in 1945 as a member of the American Army’s Women’s Army Corps.
