Check out our student project of the month: OUT by Kira Velazquez from LGBTQ Class Creative Zines.
The class is designed to see the connections between homophobia, transphobia, racism, classism, sexism and the struggle for global human rights.

Prof. Andrew Demirjian receives multiple awards

Andrew Demirjian

Prof. Andrew Demirjian was awarded a Smithsonian Artist Research Fellowship, he will be doing archival research at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum and the National Museum of American History this fall for a new art installation.  

Prof. Demirjian also received a MacDowell Fellowship in interdisciplinary arts. 

The Ely Center of Contemporary Art will be exhibiting one of his video poems in a group exhibition in June and July.

Come join students from Interactive Installation course for the Spring iArt Show! This exhibit promises some exciting rising talent in the field of interactive art and media.  This year’s students come from the Integrated Media Arts MFA and Film & Media program at Hunter College, as well as an array of visiting students from CUNY Graduate Center. Installation subjects include visualizing the deaf experience for hearing communities, the Kafkaesque experience of temp job mundanity, and the musicality of bird songs.
