Emerging Media Lecture Series: Jeremiah Johnson

Jeremiah Johnson is a computer musician and new media artist based in New York
City. His work is focused primarily on the use of low-bit electronics,
repurposing them for creative expression and leveraging their inherent
limitations. Currently he is studying the aesthetics and informatics of
destructive processes, data corruption, accidents and software glitches. Johnson
is co-founder of the 8bitpeoples artist collective, co-curator of the annual
Blip Festival, and has performed over 150 shows worldwide under the name
Nullsleep.

F&M Society Screening and Reception

The Department of Film and Media Studies and The Film and Media Society will be hosting a
screening and reception to welcome a group of students and faculty visiting from
the Institute for Media at the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht,
Holland. We’ll be showing a selection of work from students in our Department,
as well as work by the students from Utrecht.

This reception will include a public art performance, a musical set by Brooklyn-based author and DJ, Rich Burroughs, the opportunity to meet the featured artists and a presentation by the exhibition’s curator Dexter Wimberly. Free to the public.
