IMA Alumnae Doris Caçoilo and Alana Kakoyiannis are working on creating an eight week residency, curators and artists construct and deconstruct: their understanding and experience of media; the different perspectives of journalism online vs. print; the future of news. The projects created will be exhibited in Cyprus and then in NYC.

IMA Faculty, Alumni and Student awarded a total of 5 Brooklyn Arts Council grants. Prof. Kelly Anderson for her documentary My Brooklyn, Alumni Clarisa James & Sha Sha Feng of their non profit organization DIVAS for Social Justice (3 awards), and IMA student Tamara Gubernat receive Brooklyn Arts Council Awards (BAC) for 2011.
