IMA alumna Annie Berman’s film in The Journal of Short Film

IMA alumna Annie Berman’s film, Street Views, will be included in the latest volume of The Journal of Short Film.

Street Views, a virtual film by Annie Berman and set in New York City’s famed West Village, but ‘shot’ within Google’s mapping application, explores how virtual mapping alters our experience of space and identity. With humor and a light touch, Berman attempts to navigate a surreal, disoriented new landscape.

Street Views awarded Best Experimental Short Film at RIFF

IMA student Annie Berman was awarded Best Experimental Short Film at RIFF, Rome Independent Film Festival for her short, Street Views. Street Views is a documentary that turns to Google’s street view for setting, characters, and storyline.

Street Views will also be screening this Sunday night at Anthology Film Archive at 7:30PM. It will be apart of the Screen Loud Film Festival where five short movies explore the theme of being a ‘foreigner’ searching for a way to express oneself in a new world. The screenings will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers and the audience will get to vote for the best movie. The reception is sponsored by Estrella Damm and Freixenet.

Street Views will also be exhibited at the New Currents Media Festival in Santa Fe this June.
