On September 27th, Professor Steve Gorelick opened his exhibition ENOUGH violence: Artists Speak Out at the Society for Contemporary Craft in Pittsburg. The exhibition features the work of 14 contemporary artists from around the world whose work investigates how the process and product of art can promote peace, non-violence, and reconciliation.
Professor Steve Gorelick was asked to write an essay on his exhibition for the Society, as well as give a talk later in the fall on mass violence in art, media and culture.
Utoya Reckoning: On Culture and Craft as a Response to Catastrophe (slide 7, page 4).
The exhibition will continue until March 22, 2014.
