Beginning with his moving image work Night Stroll and an ongoing interest in architectural intervention, Poyen Wang’s installation at 99 Canal transforms the space into a ghostly threshold. Immersed in darkness, the environment echoes the eerie atmosphere of Night Stroll, which anchors the presentation in 99 Canal’s main space. Extending across the hallway and into the artist’s studio, Poyen’s spatial intervention reflects on queer isolation, transgression, and desire.
