“Run Up” is a 2012 short film co-produced, written, and starred by IMA student Masha Dakic. Filmed in documentary style, the short follows the story of two actresses who try to change their lives by participating in a local film festival organized by the renowned Serbian director Emir Kusturica.The film will be part of New Filmmakers Series.

IMA student Megan Rossman will be presenting her award-winning short film Love Letter Rescue Squad at the Reeling Film Festival in Chicago.
The short revisits the efforts of Deborah Edel and Joan Nestle who orchestrated the creation of the world’s largest collection of works by and about lesbians. This project, named Lesbian Herstory Archives, emerged as a response to the lack of preservation of lesbian history and grew from the hard work of a small group of women in a tiny New York apartment. After 40 years of dedication, the archive is very much alive as well as the challenges to keep it preserved.

Prof. Larry Shore was commissioned to design the exhibit and make a special short video for the Albert Luthuli Museum in Groutville, Kwazulu/Natal, South Africa. The museum is a National Heritage Site 40 miles North of Durban. Last year the museum opened a special exhibit to commemorate Chief Luthuli’s meeting with Senator Robert Kennedy on June 8th, 1966. Chief Luthuli was the first African to win the Nobel Peace Prize. At the time of the visit he was the banned president of the African National Congress. The exhibit is about the meeting.
