Prof. Steve Gorelick has been appointed to the editorial board of the new academic journal Gender and Violence, and will advise the journal on the gendered representations of criminals and victims that are dominant in media and culture. The first issue will include his piece on the persistence of misogynistic narratives of the spurned, vengeful female killer in popular culture.

IMA alumna Natasha Florentino’s documentary
Natasha Florentino has been working on her documentary film “Abundant Land” for the past 3 years. Since her thesis presentation of the film, Natasha has continued to work on the film and now collaborating with IMA alum Benjamin Moss, who is working on the project as editor.

IMA alum Dan Hunt wins Telly Award!
Dan Hunt’s MR. ANGEL won a 2013 Telly Award for Social Issue Documentary!
The film has screened in a number of festivals like Frameline, Toronto LGBT, Brooklyn International and Portland to name a few. Upcoming festivals include: Tokyo LGBT, Philly Q Fest, Dublin GAZE, Indianapolis International, Oslo Pride and Rio International. Screenings will be announced soon.
