IMA student and artist Betty Yu featured on Huffington Post
IMA student Betty Yu was featured in the article, Artists Transform Old Chinatown Beauty Parlor into a Creative Playground, on Huffington Post which reviewed the interactive installation, Through The Parlor. Reported by Priscilla Frank, the article explores the work of the artists whom put together the interactive gallery using various media to explore the culture that grows in the space of a hair salon, in terms of capital, labor and cultural identity. Betty Yu was one of the artists apart of Through the Parlor whom has contributed her interactive installation, WORKShifts, to the exhibition.
Through The Parlor runs until December 14th at 24 Rutgers street Chinatown. It is open on Wednesday to Sunday from 1:00-7:00PM.
Fall 2013 iArt Show
On Friday, December 20th, from 5:00-7:00pm the Integrated Media Arts MFA and the Film and Media students will be hosting an evening of collaborative and individual works and installations which investigate space, sound and movement at the Hunter College Black Box Gallery. They will present their semester’s work at iArt 2013, Engage Now, Interactive Media Explorations. Come, touch, play, experience the works and meet the artists behind them.
