IMA alumni Megan Sperry and Daniel Phelps will be screening The Domino Effect at the Cities & Citizenship Conference. The conference is part of the Goethe-Institut’s Weltstadt: Who Creates the City? project, taking place in major cities around the world and culminating in a conference in Berlin in May. The Domino Effect will be opening the conference on Thursday March 13th at 7:00PM with a panel discussion to follow. On the following Saturday, the 15th, Megan Sperry will be conducting her workshop, Community Organizing, Communications and Documentary Filmmaking from 12:00-1:00PM.

IMA student Betty Yu performed in the Speech, Chant, Manifesto: The Words of the Asian American Movement on March 4th at the Interference Archive. The performance was an ensemble of actors and organizers that staged a theatrical reading of writings and interviews of the 1970s Asian American Movement. The theatrical readings aimed not only to shine light on those words, but to produce a conversation between contemporary organizing and its political roots.
