Cold Shutdown: Fukushima One Year After is a visit with citizens of fallout-covered Fukushima prefecture, as they come together to protect the lives of their children and themselves, setting up radiation testing sites and food distribution centers, and occupying the grounds of the Ministry of Trade in Tokyo.
Following the film, join Sabu Kohso and Yuko Tonohira of Todos Somos Japon, an organization dedicated to linking the ongoing de-nuclearizing movement in Japan to larger global struggles, as they discuss the significance of newly developing forms of resistance in Japan with me. It’s a $5 donation to the bookstore, open to the public… so come check it out!
