Prof. Larry Shore guest speaker at museum

Prof. Larry Shore will deliver the Luthuli Museum 20 Year Anniversary Public Lecture on Weds., August 21st at 11:00AM at the Museum in Groutville, KwaDukuza, South Africa.

The Luthuli Museum in Groutville, formerly the home of Chief Albert and Mrs. Nokukhanya Luthuli, was officially opened to the public as a national museum on 21 August 2004 by then South African President Mr Thabo Mbeki. (see PDF flyer for details.)

Prof. Michael Gitlin’s film screening

Prof. Michael Gitlin’s film The Night Visitors (2023, 72 minutes) is screening Weds., July 24, at Fort Greene Park in Brooklyn, outdoors on the Myrtle Lawn, by the Myrtle Ave and N. Portland Ave entrance to the park. This event is free, please RSVP at the Rooftop website. The lawn opens at 7:00pm. The screening will start at 8:45pm, followed by a brief Q&A.

Prof. Ricardo Miranda’s project “esfuerzo”

Conceived due to the 152,000 unaccompanied migrant minors at the Mexico/U.S. border seeking asylum in 2022, the interactive multimedia project “esfuerzo” combines workshops, storytelling, art, gameplay, website and a paper publication to inform and elicit a new U.S. immigration policy.
