IMA student Wendy Cong Zhao directed and animated the official music video for Cheek to Cheek by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong. It was released to celebrate Ella Fitzgerald’s birthday.

IMA student Andrea Lerner receives 2 awards:

• 2021 Community Arts Grant from the Brooklyn Arts Council.
• Fellowship at The Bogliasco Foundation in Italy. The residency will be from October to November.

Andrea’s new video Two Dogs and Us the duo Rosane Chamecki and Andrea Lerner, aka chameckilerner was selected to ScreenDance Festival in Stockcholm.

IMA alumna Betty Yu is featured in the article “Asian-American Artists, Now Activists, Push Back Against Hate” in The New York Times on April 18th for her activist work. Betty co-founded the Chinatown Art Brigade with Tomie Arai, ManSee Kong, and a network of other artists and organizers to oppose gentrification of New York’s Chinatown neighborhood.
