Film Screening – Tabloid

Errol Morris producer Mark Lipson will be available to give IMA students critiques of their work, as well as showing his latest film TABLOID. Lipson also produced THE THIN BLUE LINE and FAST, CHEAP AND OUT OF CONTROL, helping put Errol Morris on the map. This is a great opportunity for IMA students to get feedback on their work. It will also be free.

SCREENING:
TABLOID will screen Wednesday, November 7th at 6pm followed by a Q and A in the Lang Auditorium. Open to the Hunter College community.

About the film:

Empty Quarter (2011, 16mm black & white/sound, 71 minutes) is a film about the region of Southeast Oregon, an area populated by ranching and farming communities, in Lake, Harney, and Malheur counties. The region is roughly one-third of Oregon’s landmass yet holds less than 2% of the state’s population.

Come watch Dakan
Our series premier presents the first feature length film on African Queerness, directed by Mohamed Camara. Produced in Guinea, Dakan follows the familial, communal, and spiritual struggles experienced in this “Romeo and Juliet” love story of two men. Following the showing, documentary filmmaker Seyi Adebanjo will facilitate a critical discussion on the intersections of community, sexuality, and spirit.
