To Whom It May Concern,

I write to inform you, your colleagues, institution, and students of part-time paid and temporary contract employment opportunities with the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, within the division of NYC Media.

NYC Media is seeking a contractual video editor, responsible for the digitization and archival management of born-digital and physical media, along with essential metadata cataloging and some light editing, as well as a video asset manager whose roles and responsibilities will be focused on cataloging, management, and storage of digitized video and other media assets (e.g. audio files, documents, images, etc.) into a media asset management system.

All work for these positions will be carried out onsite at NYC Media’s offices at One Centre St. in Manhattan due to access and handling needs of the media and database systems. Remote work is not an option for these positions.

Candidates are expected to be contacted, interviewed, and selected by the end of September 30, 2022, begin work in October 2022, and continue work into January 2023. It may be possible for the roles to extend beyond this initial phase of work in the future.

Position profiles are attached to this email message. Applicants for the positions should submit a cover letter and their resume to info@media.nyc.gov and include specific details about academic degrees, credentials, as well as technical skills, and software experience. In the cover letter, candidates should indicate weekly availability. Employment will be through a third-party temporary employment agency.
