I hope this email finds you well. I am the Director of Communications for the Lake Placid Film Festival, specializing in the development of programs that help students expand their knowledge and connections in the world of media. For 25 years, our organization has been committed to breaking down the economic barriers that prevent many emerging talents from attending networking events and festivals that would otherwise help grow their connections in the industry.
I am contacting you because we would love to have Hunter College students apply to be a part of our free Student Summit Mentorship program. Now in its 5th year, theStudent Summit program allows 8-12 undergraduate college students of any media/communications major the opportunity to attend the 25th Lake Placid Film Festival (Nov 5-8, 2026) at no cost to them (outside of their transportation). Students selected receive hotel accommodations and meals for the entirety of the festival, as well as exclusive access to the special guests that headline the festival each year. Festival guests over the past two years have included Gotham Award winning director-producer duo, Elegance Bratton & Chester Algernal Gordon (The Inspection), Academy Award winning director, Barbara Kopple (Harlan County, USA), and acclaimed producer Barbara DeFina (Goodfellas).
