Prof. Marty Lucas screens at Videoart.net

Film/Media Professor Marty Lucas’s experimental short “Treatment Plan” is featured at the videoart.net 2011 festival at the Tribeca Theater this week. Treatment Plan follows the story of a psychiatric patient in a waterside hospital suffering from severe depression. The film was shot over a five month period near the Verrazano Narrows, and inspired by the difficulties of encountering the possibilities and potentials of the high-definition video image. The film screens Thursday, December 9 at 9:15PM.

Sarah & Esy’s film screening at UNC

IMA Alumnae Sarah Friedland and Esy Casey recently returned from an amazing trip to the Philippines, during which they filmed Jeepney Movie. During production, they were constantly reminded of the first film they made together, Thing With No Name. Four years after its release it is tragically still relevant.  In honor of world AIDS day, Thing With No Name will be screened at the University of North Carolina School of Public Health.  It is free and open to the public.
