Hello Everyone,
These two classes are usually very popular, but this fall seats remain available for these courses, in case students are searching for game programming and graphic design courses:
MEDP 37000 – Game Programming 1
Mo 5:30PM – 8:15PM in person, Hunter North 470D (class 6229)
Game Programming is a course that introduces students to the concepts, problems, and methods of computer programming and how these apply to the creation of video games. Throughout the
semester, students will have weekly programming assignments, first with an emphasis on learning the fundamentals of programming, then with a focus on internalizing concepts that will
be helpful for nearly any type of game you go on to make. The course assumes no prior programming knowledge and is designed to touch on the basic principles of digital design in the form of computer code.
MEDP 25000 – Digital Design and Usability (class 4744)
Mo 4:00PM – 6:50PM in person, Hunter North 1001A
This class will focus on understanding the fundamental elements and principles of design:
• Typography • Point/Line/Plane • Rhythm/Balance
• Scale • Texture • Color
• Framing • Grid • Figure/Ground
• Hierarchy • Layers • Transparency
• Modularity • Pattern • Diagram
Students will learn to communicate ideas by using design software to manipulate these elements and principles of design. The course will explore these design basics from both a historical perspective and how they can be used in a digital environment.
Best,
Ricardo
