As part of our Climate Week event series, join PELEA Animation, Pelea Movement, and chilli on September 22nd at 6:30pm ET for the premiere of the animated teaser “Pelea” and the launch of the nonprofit Pelea Movement.
“Pelea” is a 2D hand drawn animated film set in Vivencia, a fictional South American nation whose rich oil and mineral resources are coveted by powerful foreign nations. After a U.S. backed coup shatters the stability of the entire nation, a resistance is born.
Pelea Movement is a nonprofit that focuses on fighting for communities that have been impacted by resource extraction, militarism and imperialism. We believe that we cannot overcome the climate crisis unless we first address militarism, which is the largest single contributor to greenhouse gas emissions.
Chilli is a digital advocacy platform designed to provide opportunities to support social and environmental action.
They work with impact leaders to amplify campaigns that fight for our world.
Join us at 6:30 pm ET for the premiere of the “Pelea” film teaser and a panel discussion. The panel will be moderated by Jamie Margolin, the Founder and CEO of Pelea Animation Studios and feature Pelea artists and Amazonian land protectors.
