Leadership for Democracy and Social Justice (LDSJ), the new CUNY institute based at CCNY and CUNY SLU, is pleased to launch the recruitment cycle for the 2024 Social Change Fellowship. This year-long program is designed for undergraduate students at CUNY; the fellowship runs from Jan-Dec 2024. The application is live here, and the deadline for applications is Monday, October 30, 2023.

The Social Change Fellowship is for CUNY undergraduates who seek training and support to become leaders for social change. Fellows might be interested in any social justice issue – from racial justice to climate justice; LGBTQ+ rights to labor rights; economic inequality to health equity. The fellowship will provide intensive in-person training and special courses, professional development, mentoring, stipends, and paid internships.

Applicants must be CUNY undergraduate students who will be Sophomores, Juniors, or Lower Seniors in the Spring 2024 semester. The program is designed with a particular focus on elevating the leadership of people who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC), working-class, immigrant (regardless of immigration status), LGBTQIA+, disabled, or as members of other historically marginalized identities.

Full program details and requirements on the LDSJ website: https://www.socialjusticeleadership.org/social-change-fellowship. And, again, the deadline to apply is October 30, 2023. Please be in touch with Ricardo Anez Carrasquel (ranezcarrasquel@ccny.cuny.edu) if you have questions.

The LDSJ team asked me to share this information with encouragement that you share the opportunity and application with students.
