To Whom It May Concern:
We are reaching out with an opportunity that we are excited to extend as part of this year’s Craft 1o1 program that might be of interest to your students.
In keeping with Arts Letters & Numbers’ ongoing commitment to accessibility, mentorship, and open access to education, we have established a number of fully supported scholarships for individuals recommended through our extended community. For more than a decade, Arts Letters & Numbers has been developing educational programs rooted in interdisciplinary exchange, creative inquiry, collaboration, and the belief that meaningful learning emerges through shared experience and sustained engagement across disciplines.
As you may already know, Craft 1o1 takes place each summer at Arts Letters & Numbers between July 1 and August 30, bringing together artists, musicians, writers, performers, designers, craftspeople, educators, students, and curious learners for more than twenty workshops, intensives, and gatherings led by practitioners from a wide range of fields. The diverse group of artists, educators, writers, musicians, architects, designers, filmmakers, and craftspeople, include David Gersten, Bill Morrison, Brandon López, Anthony Titus, Laurie Olinder, Mitch Manning, Daniele Frazier, Margot Becker, Will Hallett, Nils Folke Anderson, He Yunchang, Zhang Xiaorui, Teun van der Heijden, and Alexey Yurenev, among others. Participants may attend as residents on our campus or as commuting participants, depending on their interests and availability.
We are proud to be able to offer these scholarships and are reaching out because we believe this opportunity may be of particular interest to your students, recent graduates, and members of your academic community. Craft 1o1 was designed precisely as a space where emerging practitioners can work alongside established artists, educators, and professionals, develop new skills, form lasting relationships across disciplines, and participate in a learning environment that extends beyond the boundaries of a traditional classroom.
Individuals referred through this initiative will receive a 100% scholarship covering both program tuition and on-campus accommodation. The only expenses not covered are transportation to and from the Arts Letters & Numbers campus and any meals beyond the two communal meals per week provided by the organization.
We would be deeply grateful if you could forward the link below to individuals in your community whom you believe would benefit from it. Expanding access to education, creative practice, and meaningful mentorship has long been central to the mission of Arts Letters & Numbers, and this initiative represents an important step toward making those opportunities available to people who might otherwise find participation financially out of reach.
You can find information about the workshops, instructors, residency options, and application process here: https://www.artslettersandnumbers.com/craft-1o1-2026-programs
On a more practical note: to participate, referred individuals should complete the Craft 1o1 application and indicate that they were referred through this invitation by selecting the referral option included at the bottom of the application form. Applicants should simply complete the form that best matches their intended mode of participation (Resident, Non-Resident, Youth). Any pricing information that appears within the applications can be disregarded, as they do not apply to individuals participating through this referral scholarship initiative.
With appreciation,
