Established, growing sound-for-picture company looking to hire an intern with strong motivation to pursue a career in field sound
work in the video production industry. Company is a democratically-controlled, worker-owned co-operative. There is a path to
worker-ownership of the company for all workers including interns. The intern hired for this position will need strong organizational,
time management, and communications skills, and a strong capacity to adapt to the day-to-day challenges in the multiple logistical,
interpersonal, and technical facets of field sound work.
Responsibilities
● Picking up and delivering audio gear around New York City
● Shipping and Receiving
● Communicating with freelance mixers and audio gear rental/repair/sales houses.
● Data entry
● Organizing audio gear
● Preparing audio packages for jobs
● Special projects based on an intern’s skills and interests
Requirements
● A basic understanding of sound-for-picture audio equipment
● Computer skills including Google Docs and Gmail.
● Flexible schedule: regular shifts will be scheduled. However, some hours will be as-needed and on-call, as is the nature of
the sound-for-picture business.
● Academic-year commitment, 12 hours/week.
