Comité Noviembre is a nonprofit organization that commemorates and pays tribute to the contributions Puerto Ricans have made to this nation. It supports educational opportunities for youth through college scholarships, promotes, acknowledges, creates awareness, and takes ownership of our rich culture, language, and history. Comité Noviembre creates open forums to discuss critical issues affecting the Puerto Rican community— specifically in the areas of education, youth leadership development, health, politics, and civic involvement. Internship Description

Comité Noviembre seeks two (2) talented and motivated interns who will be responsible for assisting in a range of marketing initiatives within Comite Noviembre and TAS Communications, LLC. Their duties will include creating, posting and scheduling social media posts and campaigns; and monitoring accounts on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Interns will also create and broadcast announcements and newsletters using Constant Contact.

Responsibilities include

  • Assist with the design and execution of social media campaigns
  • Create and distribute original content on social media
  • Design newsletter on Constant Contact.
  • Write social media captions
  • Track social media engagement, respond to comments and DMs
  • Perform social media marketing research and follow leads for postings and newsletters
  • Design invitations, fact sheets, and other informational items
  • Update the organization’s media list
  • Write media advisories
  • Follow-up with media outlets (emails, texts, calls)
  • Provide project reports and updates

Requirements: Candidate must

  1. Be detail-oriented
  2. Possess strong written communication skills
  3. Knowledge of social media tools
  4. Experience with all social media platforms
  5. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  6. Be available to attend meetings via Zoom
  7. Be bilingual, Spanish/English
  8. Driver’s license a plus, but not required

Compensation

  1. Hourly Rate:  $15 an hour for a minimum of 20 hours a week. Hybrid (onsite/remote) schedule can be arranged. Must be able to travel to the office located in White Plains, New York
