Hello everyone,
I’m reaching out with an internship opportunity for aspiring TV writers, through the Junior Hollywood, Radio, and Television Society, that may be of interest to your Film and Media Studies students. JHRTS is a non-profit that works to elevate the next generation of media professionals by connecting them with established industry leaders.
For the past 3 years, JHRTS has hosted a simulated “TV Writers Room” where selected writers collaborate over the summer to write an entire season of television. They’re guided in the process by working TV professionals who act as their “Studio Exec” and “Line Producer” among other roles.
This year, JHRTS has partnered with WGA-East for the room’s 4th season. I run the room with Janet Hyojo Oh, my co-showrunner. We’re currently looking for 1 undergraduate writer to serve as our “writers’ assistant” intern.
We’ve attached a short newsletter blurb about the program and a flyer. Applications close May 15th, and it’s free to apply. The room begins in June and runs through September.
More information about this internship can be found at our website, and we’re happy to answer any additional questions.
