Storyline is launching a unique 10-month paid full time apprenticeship program to help nurture the next generation of accountable and collaborative storytellers who are traditionally underrepresented in the fields of nonfiction storytelling: documentary film, journalism, photography, performance, audio, and emerging technologies.

This New York City based program combines entry level producing work with tailored mentorship and instructional workshops.

For people interested in working in nonfiction, there is a critical gap in career development support. There are great labs and fellowships, but most of them require a fully developed project to apply. What do you do if you don’t quite know what your first project might be, or in what medium? Or maybe you do, but you’re not sure where to start. Or maybe you don’t know how you might want to be involved in nonfiction work yet. And you can’t afford to do a bunch of unpaid internships to figure that out. This apprenticeship is designed to
fill that gap.

Applications are due June 26 and the program starts in September 2023.

Visit the application website  for details on eligibility and how to apply.

We’ll be posting to our IG account too, so you can follow us there to repost and share.
