I’m a Hunter College graduate and a Video Producer for Odyssey Online. It’s one of the fastest growing Social Content Platforms. I’m currently looking for content creators for the site.
Here’s a little background on Odyssey: the editorial side was launched in 2014, and since then the company has expanded to over 1,000 independently operating editorial teams across the country. This August the video platform launched! Video will be significant for the company. Here’s an article about an investor discussing the company.
A content creator would create a 1-3 minute video weekly of any kind and on any subject they desire. There is great freedom for creativity. The creator would also own their content. What they decide to do with their content, besides publishing it on Odyssey, is totally up to them. We also greatly welcome content that has been already completed for publication as well. The creator would have support and feedback from film and media makers with greater experience in their fields.
This position is a great way for students to create a portfolio for themselves and have their work published on successful media outlet.
College credit is available if a creator desires it. This isn’t a paid position, but there are monthly financial incentives for a creator to make content. For example, if a content creator’s videos get 50,000 views in total every month, they are awarded $100. These numbers may be changed going forward.
