Design Assistant Internship
This internship is a resume-builder for jobs in digital design, marketing and communications. You will get real-world production experience in a very active design studio. Please note: This is an unpaid internship and must be approved for college credit through your department. The successful assistant will gain greatly expanded skills in digital design, collaborative experience, letter of recommendation, resume review, portfolio guidance and job-hunting advice. The student who gets the most out of the internship will be curious, articulate, self-directed, and helpful. The intern will report directly to the Senior Designer.
Qualifications:
- Minimum experience: two semesters in Illustrator; one semester in Photoshop
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, online research and search engines.
- HELPFUL: Any experience with using databases, Excel, InDesign, DreamWeaver, advertising, marketing, communications, publishing, design, media, printing, or web design.
Responsibilities:
- Modify digital design projects in Illustrator. Update some projects in Word
- Re-design projects for multiple channels—print, web, email and monitors
- Research, download, edit, and format images in Photoshop and archive them
- Follow up with clients; manage approvals; document projects and organize files
