Hi again!
We have an update about the producing applications for our new arts showcase: We have dedicated a stipend of $3,000 for each producer—see below for details. The producing associate position is a volunteer position. If there are any students who come to mind for you that would be great candidates, please send this over to them!
Applications are due Sunday, July 28. Apply here as a producer or producing associate!
Here’s more info: Hunter Underground is a new student-run interdisciplinary arts showcase, designed to create a venue on campus with ongoing opportunities for students in all arts programs to collaborate and share their work.
We plan to start in the fall with a series of events where students can present original work across multiple genres: music, dance, short plays, readings, screenings, art installations, and more. These events will also include time for student artists to socialize with audiences.
To get started, we’re looking for students to apply to these roles to help us plan, curate, and promote these events:
Producers
3-5 producers will run the showcase, in partnership with the office of the Senior Associate Dean of the Arts
Core Responsibilities:
– Demonstrate a passion for creating an interdisciplinary arts environment at Hunter College
– Manage artistic submission and application process
– Recruit and manage students for tech, production, marketing, social media and administrative roles
– Schedule and lead meetings
– Organize a production calendar
– Create and maintain budget
– Oversee marketing and outreach plan
Stipend: $3,000 each producer, per semester, based on an expectation of working 10 hours per week, 15 weeks per semester, at $20/hour. Hours may vary week to week, but we think this will be the average time spent. This position requires a serious commitment to developing this ambitious project.
Producing Associates
3-5 students per department/discipline (Art, Creative Writing, Dance, Film, Music, Theatre)
Core Responsibilities:
– Scout artists to share their work
– Review applications and submissions for Hunter Underground artists, and make recommendations
– Promote Hunter Underground to audiences in and out of their respective departments
Note: Undergraduate and graduate students, as well graduates from Winter and Spring 2024, are invited to apply. Applicants do not need to major/minor in the arts.
Feel free to reach out to Monika and Chad at hunterarts.assistant@gmail.com with any questions!
