DESCRIPTION: The John D. Calandra Italian American Institute of Queens College/CUNY seeks applications for the position of Broadcast Associate who will report to the dean and work closely with the producer of the TV program Italics. This is a 20-hour-per-week position.
DUTIES
- • 20-hour workweek. Must be flexible to work 3 days a week (in person).• Post-production: download footage, organize files, edit footage for Italics episodes at CUNY TV for broadcast and for Italics on YouTube; create promos, create titles and graphics; and related tasks.
- •Research: information and supplemental footage/still photos for final edit with link information.
- •Provide show information for episodes to Italics producer.
- •Camera Operation: possible remotes, in-house, both with producer and unsupervised.
- •Perform other related duties appropriately assigned by the dean or producer, in all aspects of production and post-production.
- •Archive: digitize tapes to assist in compilation of Italics archive for future video library.
QUALIFICATIONS
- •BFA, MA, MFA, or the equivalent from an accredited college in a related field and three years of shooting and editing for television.
- •Excellent working knowledge of Premiere Pro required.•Good knowledge of technical aspects of TV production required.•Strong working knowledge of camera, lighting, and audio equipment required.•Adept at English-language writing and verbal communication skills required.•Efficient communication with the production team, organized, enthusiastic, creative, ready to collaborate and solve technical problems, reliable.•Experience with After Effects and Photoshop a plus.•Working knowledge of Italian desirable.
