WebServes provides educational and mentoring opportunities to college students, recent graduates and unemployed individuals who want to grow their skills and build their portfolios.
WebServes is a non-profit Technology Service Provider that offers affordable Websites, Web/Mobile Applications, Social Media Marketing, Branding, Design and Consulting services to other non-profits and small businesses.

All positions:
Hours: 12-15 hrs/week – minimum (weekdays only)
Start Date: June 2016
Compensation: Unpaid internship (F/M course credit available)
Location: Lower Manhattan (Financial District) – Near 2/3, 1, R, 4/5

Web Developer
Description:
The Web Developer Intern will work with WebServes staff and team members to assist in the active web technology projects of the organization and its clients.
Focused primarily on Web and Internet technologies for other non-profits, NGOs and small businesses, the Web Developer Intern will contribute to WS organizational operations and the execution of its projects. Primarily working on the development of organizational and client-based websites.
The individual should have the ability to work under supervision and independently as a designer/developer/programmer of websites for a range of clients, particularly other nonprofits.
Activity can include some or all of the following:
- Web design
- Web coding
- Web Interface design (UI)
- Interactive Design
- UX Design
Areas/Skills desired:
- Website development (HTML, JS, CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap) – Intermediate to Advanced level
- Knowledge of PHP a plus
- Knowledge of DB architecture – MySQL a plus
- CMS frameworks (WordPress) – some experience desirable.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good interpersonal skills
- Will train in other key areas

Web Designer
Description:
The Web Design Intern will work with WebServes staff and team members to assist in the active web technology projects of the organization and its clients.

- Graphics production (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Web Interface design (UI)
- Website coding
- Interactive Design
- Typography

- Web Graphics – Intermediate level
- Website development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Dreamweaver) – Intermediate
- CMS frameworks (WordPress) – some experience desirable.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English
- Good interpersonal skills
- Will train in other key areas

Social Media & Content Strategist
Description:
The Social Media & Content Strategist will work with WebServes staff and project teams to assist in the operation and management of the active programs and technology projects of the organization. Focused primarily on Web and Internet technologies for other nonprofits, NGOs and small businesses, the Social Media & Content Strategist will contribute directly to the execution of its varied technology projects, inc. content development, content strategy, communications, outreach, social media campaigns, etc.
Areas/Skills desired:
- General knowledge of Web technologies and Internet environment
- Must have excellent writing, copyediting skills in English
- Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheets (Word, Google Docs)
- General Computer knowledge: Intermediate level (pref. Mac & PC)
- Good verbal communication skills in English
- Good administrative and time-management skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Will train in other key areas
