Makerspace Electronics Intern [PAID!] for the Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship
The Lawrence N. Field Center for Entrepreneurship is seeking a highly creative, talented and self- motivated Makerspace Electronics Intern, responsible for supporting Field Center pop up makerspace activities. Specifically the intern will assist in creating activities associated with our Sparkfun Kits. A Maskerspace is a physical location where people gather to share resources and knowledge and work on projects, network and build. Sparkfun kits are tools that provide a great way to teach programming and hardware interaction with Arduino programming language. The Makerspace Intern will report to Field Center Director, Monica Dean supported by Professors Zoe Sheehan Saldana and Allison Lehr- Samuels.
Responsibilities
- Learn how to use the Sparkfun Kit
- Create mini tutorials associated with Sparkfun
- Assist with conducting pop up makerspaces on campus
- Research and make recommendations of additional equipment
- Work collegially and collaboratively with staff, faculty, student employees, and other interns
Skills and Specifications
- Project management
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work individually on self-driven projects
- Demonstrate ability to solve problems, analyze systems and data and suggest appropriate solutions
- Ability to work under tight project deadlines with attention to detail
- Knowledge of 3D printing is helpful but not required
