Accessing a Faculty Member’s DropBox

All Hunter College faculty members have digital ‘Drop Boxes’ in which you can leave files for them. To access a dropbox you will need to be on campus.
You can use Apple’s AFP or a file transfer application, such as Fugu (Mac Users) or WinSCP (PC Users).

On Campus (Mac Users)

You can connect to your faculty account by selecting “Go” and “Connect to Server” on the Mac computer on campus.

Next, type in afp:// and select “Connect”.

Type in your username and password.
Once logged in, Choose “Faculty_accts” and press “OK”
Find your professor’s folder and go to their Public folder and drop your homework files into the the Dropbox folder.

NB: You will have permission to drop in files, but not permission to view the files in the folder.

On Campus – Fugu (Mac Users)

Once the application has launched, type the following

Connect to:

Username: yourusername

Click Connect

The application will now ask you for your password
Password xxxxxxx

On Campus- WinSCP (PC Users)

Once the application has launched, select Session and fill in the following for
host name:
your user name
port: 22
Select SFTP

Click Login and type in your password when prompted.
