Hunter College students can apply for $3,500 to report an original national or international story through the Pulitzer Center Campus Consortium Fellowship. <\/a>The fellowship is now in its ninth year at Hunter and funds in-depth reporting projects. Hunter is one of only three CUNY schools eligible for the program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fellows receive funding and travel to Washington, D.C. for an all-expenses-paid program, where they meet student journalists from across the country and network with media professionals. The fellowship requires a 1,500-word text-based story, photos, and a reporting notebook reflecting on the experience. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fellowship pairs selected students with a professional journalist who mentors them through the reporting and editing process. Applicants must submit a proposed project title, a budget, and a detailed description of their reporting plan. The application also consists of an explanation of why the applicant is well-suited for the project and how the reporting could support public engagement. They must research existing coverage in their chosen country and identify an original angle that has not been widely reported. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This program allows students to have their work published in prominent media outlets and gain recognition in the industry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
