In mid-November, students from Monica Malpass’s Reporting and Writing class visited the Nasdaq Marketsite in Times Square, where they got to watch two TV tapings.

Professor Malpass led the students to the iconic Nasdaq headquarters on Wednesday, November 12, where they were greeted by Nasdaq officials.

Then they entered Studio One to observe a 45-minute taping for New to the Street, a business and financial news program that airs on Bloomberg TV, FOXBusiness, Newsmax and YouTube TV.

David Jemmett, founder and CEO of CISO Global, described cybersecurity threats and his company\u2019s innovative solutions. Daniel Webb, Aeries Technology CFO and CIO, explained his company\u2019s AI-powered business transformation and global capability center services.

Students got to meet both executives and take photos afterwards. It was the first time any of the students had been to the Nasdaq and an eye-opening look into the worlds of business and journalism.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“It was really neat to get a behind the scenes look at the NASDAQ,” said Hunter College student Aidan Hailey. “It was really cool to see the recording studio and how the filming works.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
