The deadline has been extended to March 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2023.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every year, a Hunter College student wins a $3,000 grant to fund their chosen international reporting. Previous fellows have reported on topics such as women and gender, the environment, human rights, immigration and social justice.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hunter\u2019s journalism program director Sissel McCarthy explains, \u201cthey are looking for a spotlight on a story that isn\u2019t being told in American media.\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The chosen fellow will work with a professional journalist serving as their mentor through the program and their work will be published on the Pulitzer website. The fellowship will also help its winner find other media outlets to publish where their research would be a good fit.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fellowship includes an all-expenses paid trip to Washington D.C. in the fall for an opportunity to meet with other Pulitzer fellows.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Last year\u2019s fellow, Niamh McAuliffe, reported in Ireland to investigate how breweries are converting waste into biogas, a renewable energy source. She included in her field notes, \u201cMy advice to any future Pulitzer Fellows: Trust your instincts.
