Faculty member David Alm contributed items on <a href=\"https:\/\/newsliteracymatters.com\/2020\/02\/14\/q-if-news-organizations-sometimes-run-stories-to-appease-corporate-interests-do-they-also-ignore-stories-for-the-same-reason\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">corporate influence<\/a> on news and on <a href=\"https:\/\/newsliteracymatters.com\/2020\/02\/14\/q-if-news-organizations-sometimes-run-stories-to-appease-corporate-interests-do-they-also-ignore-stories-for-the-same-reason\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">Chinese censorship<\/a>.\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Students also contributed new work now appearing on the site, including pieces by Michael Juskowicz on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/newsliteracymatters.com\/2020\/01\/31\/survey-finds-deep-public-confusion-about-news-vs-opinion\/\" target=\"_blank\">public confusion about news vs. opinion<\/a>, by Aleksandre De Jesus on how <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/newsliteracymatters.com\/2020\/02\/04\/unvetted-tiktok-content-challenges-web-fact-checkers\/\" target=\"_blank\">unvetted TikTok content<\/a> challenges web fact-checkers and by Carol Almonte on <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/newsliteracymatters.com\/2020\/01\/28\/tiktok-the-next-social-media-platform-awash-with-disinformation\/\" target=\"_blank\">disinformation on TikTok<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For future updates from the site, <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/newsliteracymatters.com\/subscribe\/\" target=\"_blank\">subscribe to the news feed<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Hunter College website focused on news literacy has started off the spring term in the last week with a burst of new content.
