The news organization especially encourages students from an underrepresented group \u2014 including people of color, women, LGBTQ people and people with disabilities \u2014 to apply.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The $750 scholarships will go to students who would otherwise be unable to attend. These conferences offer great opportunities for networking and professional development, especially for those just starting out in journalism. Scholarship recipients will also have the opportunity to meet up with any ProPublica staff also in attendance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.propublica.org\/article\/2019-propublica-diversity-scholarship-recipients\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\" (opens in a new tab)\">last year\u2019s scholarship recipients<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>You can apply for the scholarship&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/propublica.forms.fm\/diversity-scholarship-2020\/\">here<\/a>. The deadline is Feb. 7.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students will be able to select a conference as part of their application.
